Live Q+R: Exodus Part 1

Bible Project
By

If Disney’s “The Prince of Egypt” is your main reference for the story of Moses and the Israelites, this video is for you! Come along as Tim and Jon answer questions about God’s chosen people and their journey out of Egypt.

If you’d like to jump to specific topics we covered, click on the questions below:

Why does God harden Pharaoh’s heart in Exodus 9:12, and what implications should that action have on our view of God?

What’s the deal with Zipporah cutting off the foreskin of her son in Exodus 4? What is the significance of her actions in that passage?

Is there any significant pattern to the order of the ten plagues (water to blood, then frogs, then lice… etc)? If so, is this pattern seen elsewhere in scripture?

I believe Exodus is actual history, however many people believe it is just a moralizing story, because there is no record of it in Egyptian history. Is there is way to explain?

Why did God kill all the Egyptian children, despite the fact that it was Pharaoh’s fault. What are you’re views on this?

Does the Exodus story encapsulate the story of what God is doing in the world in novel-like form?

A lot of theologians liken the Exodus out of Egypt to the Book of Revelation with Pharoah being a type of antichrist and Moses and Aaron being like the two witness. Would you agree with thous parallels?
