Organizational Information

The Bible Project is a Portland based nonprofit that utilizes short-form, fully animated videos to make the biblical story accessible to everyone, everywhere. We create videos, podcasts, blogs, and other digital / print resources that explore the Bible’s unified story by focusing on its overarching themes and each book’s literary design.

We believe the Bible is a unified story that leads to Jesus. We are committed to understanding the Bible in its historical context and communicating its wisdom for the modern world.

Digital Community Coordinator

The Bible Project is hiring a digital community coordinator to help plan, produce, and coordinate digital content across all digital channels, to include email, YouTube, and social channels. This job is a balance of community engagement, customer service, and digital marketing (technical skills required). This position will be part of a team, but will have the opportunity, with proven ability, to manage 1 to 2 interns in areas of social media and customer service. This positions manager is the Director of Technology, with opportunity for advancement within the growing technology/marketing department.

– Salary will be between $38,000 and $53,000, contingent upon experience and skill set.
– Benefits package includes paid time off and health benefits.
– Hiring in San Diego, CA or Portland, OR
– Relocation benefits NOT offered.
– May require 5%, up to 10% travel.

Education Requirement
– Bachelor’s Degree (Communications, Computer Science, Marketing, or Business preferred, but not required).

Required Skill-sets
– Strong technical writing and grammar skills
– Basic understanding of the Bible (does not require formal Biblical teachings through a Bible college or discipleship program).
– HTML and CSS styling for email composition.

Preferred Skill-sets

– Automated marketing, drip campaign management, and email marketing acquisition/retention system familiarity, specifically Salesforce Marketing Cloud & Pardot would be especially valued.
– CSS/front-end development for form management valued.

Required Experience
– Minimum 2 Years experience in a marketing coordination role with direct duties in email , CSS/HTML template and content creation, copy generation and editing, and exposure to social media engagement.
– Able to support deployment of blogs and web content with some minor CSS and HTML work required. Applicant will not be required to write blog content, but may be asked to write standard web copy, in addition to copy being produced for social media.
– Experience executing a subscriber acquisition and subscriber retention strategy at any level.
– Should be well versed in engaging with user base across all social channels and pulling key performance metrics and analytics from social media channels. There will be direction provided on overall digital strategy, but the position would have creative and planning requirements within social circles.

Preferred Experience
– Ability to improve paid marketing efforts such as SEM (search engine marketing).
– Should be well versed into optimized activities based on performance metrics, especially in email campaigns.
– Photoshop or Design work a plus

Front-end Development Intern

The Bible Project is looking for a talented and enthusiastic Front End Development Intern to join us for a spring semester, starting this January, 2017. You will collaborate on technology products with both the design and development teams, gaining invaluable experience as you work on them from start to finish.

Essential Skills
– Intermediate capability using JavaScript, HTML and CSS to complete web pages and manage cross-browser compatibility.
– Working experience with WordPress, JavaScript libraries; e.g. jQuery, and hungry to learn more advanced code bases.
– Working knowledge of Photoshop
– Excellent eye for detail
– Healthy dose of common sense, great attitude and sense of humor

– Exposure to working on a team with designers and UX specialists to develop interactive experiences through wire-frames and prototypes.
– Understanding and appreciation of W3C standards
– Exposure to current technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, etc.
– Responsive web design
– Mobile web development
– Working on a Java or similar web platform
– Experience optimizing JavaScript performance
– Basic database access; e.g. SQL
